번역(구글 번역기)Translation (Google Translate) The Ministry of Public Administration and Security announces statistics by population age..The largest proportion of those born in the 1960s (50s)As of the end of June 2021, the average age of the resident registration population is 43.4 years old (6.4 years ↑ compared to 2008)
On the 6th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Minister Jeon Jeon-cheol) announced the demographic statistics by age of Korean resident registration as of June 30, 2021. Among the resident registration population, those in their 50s accounted for the largest share with 8,590,314 (16.6%).
Comparing demographic trends by age group since 2008, when resident registration demographics began to be aggregated, it can be seen that the number of people in their 40s and younger is significantly decreasing, while those in their 50s and older are increasing significantly.
In addition, 4050 (32.5%) accounted for the largest proportion, followed by 2030 (26.2%), 6070 (20.7%), under teens (16.6%), and over 80s (4.0%).
Comparing the demographic trends by age group since 2008, it can be seen that the population under the age of 10 and 2030 continues to decrease, while those in the 60s and 80s are increasing significantly.
By birth year, those born in the 1960s, who are in their 50s, accounted for 16.6% of the total population, with about 8.6 million, followed by those born in the 1970s > those born in the 1980s > those born in the 1990s > those born in the 1950s > those born in the 2000s. appeared in order
At the end of June 2021, the average age of the resident registration population was 43.4 years, an increase of 6.4 years from 2008. In particular, the average age of women (44.6 years) was 2.3 years higher than that of men (42.3 years). Sejong (37.5 years) was the only metropolitan government with an average age of less than 40 in the nation.
Also, when divided into metropolitan area and non-metropolitan area, the average age of the metropolitan area at the end of June 2021 was 42.5 years, and the average age of the non-metropolitan area was 43.8 years, which was 1.3 years higher in the non-metropolitan area than in the metropolitan area.
In the second quarter of this year (April to June), there were 67,029 births (registrations) and 75,450 deaths (cancellations), down 1,070 and 3,019 people, respectively, compared to the first quarter of this year.
In addition, the total number of households increased by 98,947 (0.43%↑) compared to the first quarter, recording 23,256,332 households at the end of June 2021. Looking at these statistics, it can be seen that the asymmetry of the population distribution is getting bigger as the population under the age of 40 is decreasing sharply, while the population over the age of 60 is rising steeply. If this trend continues, the population over 50 is expected to account for more than half of the total population in 10 years, and it is predicted that a significant number of areas with an average age of over 50 will emerge. Special policies to boost population vitality throughout the country are inevitable.
